Woman left fuming after IKEA leaves $1,500 worth of furniture on her front lawn - but still charges her $50 for the delivery

  • Aimee Parr moved from Sydney with partner, planned to collect IKEA furniture
  • Ms Parr went to Lismore depot to pick up flat packs but car too small for one trip
  • Depot staff charged Ms Parr $50 fee for them to deliver it to her nearby home

An irritated shopper has slammed IKEA after the furniture giant dumped $1,500 worth of stock on her front lawn.

Aimee Parr moved from Sydney to Lismore with her partner where she planned to collect IKEA flat pack furniture from a nearby depot.

Ms Parr went to pick up the furniture in her hatchback car but it was too small to fit all the packages in one go.

Sharing to Facebook, Ms Parr wrote the depot staff refused to let her collect the parcels in two trips and instead charged her a $50 fee for them to deliver it to her home three kilometres away.

'They delivered the goods a few hours later,' she wrote.

'Their idea of delivery was to drop off everything on the footpath outside my house and leave.'

Photos show the flat pack parcels stacked on a crate on a nature strip beside a mailbox.

Ms Parr told Northern Star it was the most expensive delivery she had paid for because she paid $40 to deliver the package from an IKEA store in Logan as well as $50 in cash for the delivery to her nature strip.

The young woman said she was too 'worried' to leave her house because she thought someone might steal her packages.

'To be honest it’s not IKEA’s job to apologise but it is their responsibility to ensure this doesn’t happen again,' Ms Parr told Daily Mail Australia.

'The staff at the collection point should apologise and I should be given a refund.'
