One bargain hunter spotted the reduced item at their local store and couldn't wait to share it.

They posted the find to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook groups.

Sharing a photo of the item, the shopper wrote: "I got this bargain yesterday in Asda Edinburgh £2.20 each.

"The other colours - grey and green - are selling for £24."

The post was met with more than 60 likes.

Fellow deal-finding pros rushed to tag their friends and share the bargain find.

The storage box comes with a five-star review on the Asda George website, with one customer writing: "Great little stool.

"Bought this for my hubby to put his feet up he loves it and keeps his magazines in too."

The storage box measures 35 by 30 by 35cm and is made from polyester, foam and MDF.

Of course, it's worth bearing in mind that while the item is reduced at the Asda store in Edinburgh, that might not be the case at other branches.

Shopping discounts - How to make savings and find the best bargains

Usually, individual stores tend to massively reduce items like this when they want to clear excess stock.

That means you've got to be quick in spotting and bagging them too.

It's always worth phoning your local store before you head down there to make sure you're not disappointed.

You can find your nearest Asda shop using the store locator tool on the chain's website.

Usually, the supermarket sells the towels for the full price of £24 and they are currently available online.

Make sure you factor in any extra delivery costs if you do purchase online.

Remember as well, you should always shop around when buying something like this.

Just because Asda has reduced it to £2.20, that doesn't mean you can't get it cheaper elsewhere.

You can use the Google Shopping search tool or websites like pricespy.co.uk which lets you compare products and their prices.

Although, in this case, you won't find the exact same product at other retailers as it's exclusive to George Home.

We looked online for similar-styled products and couldn't find any cheaper than Asda's though.

Dunelm sells similar storage boxes for £20, while Wilko has one listed online for around £32.

While they're both pretty cheap, they're still a bit more pricey than Asda's offering.

The storage boxes aren't the only item reduced at the superstore recently.

Shoppers have been rushing to buy a "lovely" 12-piece dining set scanning for £6.

While foodies have been rushing to buy a Ninja air fryer slashed to £55 from £220.

One customer was ecstatic after spotting the popular 7.6L Dual Zone air fryer at the bargain retailer.

And Asda fans have been racing to buy a kitchen gadget scanning just £10 that can help you to slash your energy bills.

How to save money on your supermarket shop

THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.

You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they've been reduced.

If the food is fresh, you'll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.

Making a list should also save you money, as you'll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.

Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.

This means ditching "finest" or "luxury" products and instead going for "own" or value" type of lines.

Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they're misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

If you're on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.

Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.
