A Kansas City, Missouri, man pleaded guilty in federal court on Wednesday to illegally possessing and selling four machine gun conversion devices.
Marquelle D. Love, 22, also known as “Q,” entered the plea before Chief District Judge Beth Phillips. He pleaded guilty to one count of illegal possession of machine guns, specifically three Glock-style machine gun conversion devices and one AR-style machine gun conversion device.
According to court documents, Love sold an AR drop-in auto sear and three metal Glock-type switches to an undercover agent on Jan. 17, 2024. The total price of the sale was $780.
Machine gun conversion devices, often called “switches” or “auto sears,” are used to convert semi-automatic firearms into fully automatic weapons. These devices enable continuous fire with a single pull of the trigger. Federal law classifies these devices as machine guns, regardless of whether they are attached to a firearm, making it illegal to possess, sell, or use them.
Love faces a sentence of up to 10 years in federal prison without parole. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled following the investigation.
