The Indian Ladies Association (ILA), Bahrain’s oldest expatriate women’s organization, is all set to host its flagship event, “Inclusivity Matters: An Evening of Inspiration, Resilience, and Empowerment,” on Friday.
The event will kick off at 5:30 PM at Swiss-Belhotel Waterfront, Bahrain, offering an inspiring evening focused on promoting inclusivity and celebrating the strength of individuals with diverse abilities.
The event will be inaugurated by H.E. Ambassador Mr. Vinod K. Jacob. One of the key highlights of the evening will be the keynote address by Mr. Gopikrishnan Varma, the first Asian actor with Down syndrome, who will share his incredible journey. Following this, Mrs. Ranjani Varma, Mr. Varma’s mother, will conduct a motivational session on the healing power of music therapy.
Attendees will also be treated to a mime performance by the children from ILA’s Sneha Recreational Center. The evening will include a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring experts from the Down Syndrome Society of Bahrain.
In addition to these highlights, Mr. Yusuf Lori, the Director of Information and Follow-Up Department at the Capital Governorate, Bahrain, will attend as a special guest to express his support for the cause.
Speaking on the event, ILA President Ms. Smitha Jensen stated, “Inclusivity is not charity—it is humanity. This event is a celebration of resilience and the power of our community to embrace diversity.”
